Quick Response Code
There are a wide variety of ways to use quick response codes in the library. One way is through providing links to online information that helps a patron choose a book. This can include many different types of links such as book reviews, basic book information, reading contests, and book trailers. These links can also offer additional information for scholars for example, when a students scans the code, they can have instant access to related songs, videos, websites, surveys, author interviews, and information on relatd materials. The quick response codes can also provide tutorials on how to access and use databases, and the online catalog, etc. I think the best part of the quick response code is that the information that they provide can be updated at any time and with ease. If a teacher needs certain information or materials on the code, it can be easily accomplished. The only drawback for me is that while almost all my students have cell phones, many do not have the capability to download readers as they aren't smart phones. This would have to accounted for if using the codes was required in an assignment. Note: I work at a Title 1 school, this problem may not be the case in a wealthier school.

Individual Technology Assessment
As an educator, I believe my main strengths in terms of technology are selecting technological services/equipment suitable for the selected tasks. I am also strong in my ability to assist students in using these technologies. My main weaknesses are that I often do not have the time to explore new technologies. I also have a distinct lack of equipment in my classroom. The technology currently availabe in my classroom for instruction are a whiteboard and an overhead.
My strengths can be utilized by planning more technology-based lessons using computers at my school, when they are available. The lack of equipment issue can be very trying and is restrictive. The other teachers in my hall may be able to help me with this by lending me their equipment.
I plan to address these weaknesses by working more closely with the technology facilitator at my school, and attending more trainings with my school district. I caan also consult with my "technologically-advanced" friends and coworkers for ideas.
